bonjour everyone!
Sorry to keep you waitimg but no news I'm afraid. So, we have to wait until 12th qpril for news. It's a bit frustrating but i am okay to wait if you'll wait with me?
The only nightmare is this dizzyness I hope it goes. I'm so giddy you wouldn't beliieve. It's as if you've turned around quickly about 5 times and then tried to be normal. Mum and Dad have been superb - I have to ring as bell for them to take me to the loo - it'\s quite funny really.
I need help getting up and down the stairs. Thats not as funy because the stairs is quite steep.
Never mind.
Si, Jo and the boys came yesterday so we had a wonderful time by the lake in St AlBans. Poor old si had to push me round the lake, now I know how much effort that was to the hoo end and back again Phil! YOU must be really fit!!!
Love
Ali

Hey Ali, just a quickie before work. I do hope I didn't offend anyone the other day. I didn't mean my post to be quite as rude as it came out.
Anyway, glad to hear that your only problem is dizziness - that's great progress.
Today there is blue sky and sunshine for the first time in ages - so far the best thing about today. Not a bad start eh?
Have a good day, take care
Lots of love

Good morning Ali.
Busy, busy! Managed to get first sunburn yesterday while varninshing the boat. The forecast for the week is good which means I can put more work behind me and get closer to the finish of this chapter.
Looking forward to having my own boat and taking you for a good sail. Have to leave your new wheels on the dock though!
Hopefully back for Tony's wedding and will catch up then.
Stay strong, no stress and good vibes. And of course, a good dose of 'Think Shrink'
Big Love and respect,
Dicky M
Morning Ali,
Definitely waiting with you for your results...think shrink!
The dizzyness must be such a pain! But at least you've got your slaves...ooops...I mean your Mum & Dad well trained.
Looking forward to seeing you soon. I will be coming to visit you ASAP when I get back from France (around 27th April) unless of course you back here again by then.
Stay strong, keep smiling & lots of hugs - they're really good for you :-) !
Love

Ah bonjour Monsieur Pluiedos (remember I used to call you that....literally rain-back haha)
I had a dream last night that you had come through the other end and were absoutely fine - so this is good karma. Keep strong Ali we're with you all the way. Janey x x
Ali... Did you see Ronaldo's goal....unbelieveable.....
Anyway. Just caught up with your blog. Haven't read it for a while so the day is nearing ? Here's hoping it's the news we've all been waiting for. Why are you othering with naming the chair, you'll be out of it soon enough. You could call it Mastermind??
Later. Come on United!!!!!!
Hi Ali
What lovely photos you have posted on your blog today.
We shall wait patiently with you for your news on 12th April and continue to think massive shrink all the time.
Your mum and dad are absolute stars as are the other members of your family and Janette but then that is what family are for.
We visited Stewart, Jo and Freya yesterday and couldn't believe how much little Freya had grown and changed. Very active and making lots of nice noises, she is beautiful and we all adore her.
Looking forward to reading your next instalment.
All our love as always
The Conways

Call it verti-GOGO
We need you out of that chair and off your arse so the arse can stop playing like arses! relying on own goals in the 90th minute - what ever next!!!
Can you change that caption from "Jeanette in Rome" to "Jeanette (feeling very hungover after she and Ali got rather drunk the night before) in Rome" please?! I look like I am about to be sick, which, to be fair, probably wasn't too far off the mark!
Oh, happy memories! Here's to plenty more! x x x
If you look that good after a night out then let's hope there are many more. Of course you were probably matching Ali, Shandy for Shandy!! Think Shrink.
Lots of love to you both,
Marzie and Jo
Hi Ali,
Still thinking shrinking. I'm leaving on Wednesday, heading back to Cumbria
hopefully in time for the baby being born, should be, Anna is due on the 20th. We'll let you know what we get.
Does this mean if you go to any matches you'll be pitchside now? I'll keep Mark away from your wheels, he'll just put our stickers all over it, you know what he is like!
All the best,
Rob
Hello mate,
That dizziness is probably down to all the "panache abuse" in your youth that is catching up with you. Other symptoms are calling Fat Nick is Australia whilst listening to marching brass band music and if this occurs seek medical advice immediately (is this why you have taken to playing the "Bell"?).
Thinking shrink all the way mate, take care.
Russ, Belle & Cara xxx
ps people still call us lucky for playing until the final whistle, funny eh! Up the Arsenal!!!
Hey Ali,
second time i'm writing because first time didn t work...bloody machine and internet...
so this message won t be that long i'm afraid.
i had to ask Martin to help me finding a new name for your chair and he mention "Eleanor". so check out this website and let us know...
http://www.dreams-cars.net/galerie-shelby-gt500-eleanor-1967.html
it won t be long until you got good news about your scan and i had pretty much the same dream as Janey: you were back to the normal shape, as fit as usual and we were actually thinking about climbing up the " Mont Ventoux" with Jeanette and MArtin, all 4 together, because i did a promise to Martin once, i told him i would do it with him so hopefully this promise will become true and sharing it with you.
i ll have to start trainning a bit because just about the tought of it: my bum hurts already...
and we have a place to stay nearby the Mont Ventoux as well.
we are really looking forward to the end of the season, maybe you know why, if Jeanette has told you already... otherwise, i ll tell you soon.
take care Ali, we are all being patient with you, not getting frustating at all, your blog keeps me positive every single time i read it.
specially as i found out that my TV won t work 'till the end of the season.
it s fine because i ve still got internet to stay connected.
say hello to Jeanette for me, she is really nice and im looking forward to see you both in Correncon to know you better.
look after yourself, keep resting and speak to you soon.
gazelle
ps, a lady called Sandra and son Zack and another son which i can t remember his name are saying hello to you.
they ve talked to me during "the feeling" concert ( which was awsome...), you ve taught them how to ski, and they are sending loads of love to you as well.
bonne journee, bonne soiree ou bonne nuit, on pense tellement a toi.
a tres bientot
gaelle
Lots of love, Hugh and Nicki xxx
Hi Ali
Just wanted to say that I am missing you and looking forward to failing miserably to keep up with you as you ascend Semnoz on your super light bike. I will be back in UK on the weekend of the 12th so will give you a call to see if I can pop in for coffee and of course, cake!!
The Marmotte
hi Ali
Not sure this will work...they never have so far!
Quieter here now the gappies have been cast out into the outside world...and the Aosta valley. Finished all my mountain stages and can now get my Carte pro....and relax.
Keep smiling we're being strong and positive for you...Pip and Garethx
PS have gained a small scruffy dog (lost or abandoned)...big character!
Hi Ali
Welcome back to Herts! So glad to see you've still got so many lovely people rallying round you. Their love and positivity will see you through the darker days. Remember the sun never goes out - even on days when the sky is filled with dark clouds - the sun is still there.
Your body is healing itself - the dizziness is because your energies are needed elsewhere. See the dizziness as just a phase you need to pass through back to health. Stay focussed on how you want to be again and you will be just that.
Don't know if you've ever read the book The Secret? (the author's name escapes me..). Anyway, in the chapter on health there's a story (a true account) of a man who severely damaged his spinal cord in an accident - he was in a coma for days. When he eventually awoke, he was told he was paralysed from the neck down and there was nothing the doctors could do for him. He couldn't even breathe for himself. Anyway, he went to work with his mind - small steps first working on getting his lungs to work and so on through the rest of his body. He pictured himself "normal" doing all the things we take for granted like speaking, sitting, walking, etc. The result was he walked out of hospital some weeks later - despite defying medical science and to the amazement of doctors. True story.
Love all the suggestions for names! Coming from a completely different angle - how about "Hope". One word but one which signifies so much.
Stay strong - in the strength you are showing, you are emitting this strength to people around you and who read your blog. And whatever you give to people, you get back tenfold. Keep going!
Best wishes
Dee Bretnall
Hi Ali. Wot! no April fool comments? Saw a consultant myself to-day...a PROFESSOR no less! Got offered a cancellation at the E.N.T. department, so jumped at the chance. Had a tube thing up my nose,a spatula in my gob and a feeling of gratitude that I'm not an Arsenal supporter! The outcome,(and they all did), is an allergy test some time in the future. Can't compete with you....wouldn't want to: but when walking past the HAEMORRHOID DEPARTMENT I forgot my problems, remembered you and thought SHRINK. Looking forward to reading your lap times; and messages from family, friends and well-wishers. Awrabest.
Hope you're working on the wheelchair skills mate - I expect wheelies and 360s at least by the end of the week. We're still thinking of you heaps out here mate and we're as positive as ever for the results on 12th.
Stay strong Ali.
Lots of love Paul, Kate and George xxx
Something's going on here re the dream thing. Now I've had a dream that I saw you walking along, talking to someone on your mobile phone, normal as you like, and no sign of Charlie the Chair. I was sitting up on some rocks above you, and called down, and you looked up and waved, then carried on your way (miserable git - you could at least have said hello!!)
Perhaps STUF (Shrink Thinkers United Front) is having an effect on us all!
Fab pics on the blog - hung over or not.

Shrink
Hello you!
Just to let you know that the Summers' clan are all thinking shrinking like mad! Mum, Lisa, Lorraine and Jean send their love and all will be crossed for the news which I am sure will be good.
Busy as ever here with work but have not been skiing for ages as stupidley went over my ankle in the garden and stretched all the ligaments. Not very gnarly I know but true so have just started doing excercise again this weekend....just in time for spring and the slushy snow :-)
Have been very naughty and bought a new bike ( Cervelo R3) which is very cool and all the boys are going to be hugely jealous........until they realise that it will make no difference what so ever to the snail like speed I manage to climb up the mountains.
Talking about things that role I hade thought of Roule (with a grave of course) or alternatively Kjus (as he was pretty speedy as you know) for Mr Wheelie chair although you have had much more innovative/funny suggestions from other peeps.
Right best go now.
You take care and hugs from all of us.
Summersx
Hey Ali,
I was just looking at all your photies again with a girl at work and we reckon if you ever fancied a change of career you've got one waiting before you behind a camera.
They really are great pictures and loads of unusual ones of things one wouldn't even think to photograph. I've even saved one as my screen wallpaper (hope you don't mind) although it's a bit blurry obviously as they are little on the blog but my screen is huge.
Anyway, just wanted to remind you everyone is thinking of you and thinking shrink and your photos are fab!
Lots of love
J-A
Hallo Ali!
We still keep fingers crossed for your results. It is awfull to wait, so try to do as most as you can to change your ideas!!
How is the wheelchair? Hope it is comfortable for the walks outside (hope as well that the weather is better than here, we have had quite some rain. Ok, yesterday it was sunny!)
Anyway, think shrink!!
Lots of love
Luc, Lotta and Annette
