Friday afternoon

Bonjour everyone,

Dad chased UPS until the cows came home last night. At 5pm they were supposed to be here and they were still in Luton. DON'T USE UPS!! So this drug regime I'm trying starts tonight. I feel happier because I'm actually doing something.

I had a lovely day today. It was great to see my friends, some of whom I haven't seen in a while, including Katie, Chisper, Rob, Pip, Andrea and Laurent.

Will blog soon, love to all.

Love Ali

First again! Nice to win at something. Hope the drugs have arrived now - I would have offered to bring them out myself. Keep fighting Ali and love to Di & Ian - we still owe them a supper!

Hey Ali,

Good to hear you're having such a lovely time at home in Annecy and that the drugs have finally arrived. So glad you are still fighting.

Best thing about today was that it is the start of the weekend - woohoo! I'm knackered this week and looking forward to some time away from work and also tomorrow am going to buy fabric to make my frock for a friend's 25th wedding anniversary - very excited!

Hope you have a lovely weekend. We think about you and pray for you all the time and my colleagues ask me everyday how "Ali Skiman" is.

Lots of love

Hi Ali - been working away in south Wales all week - beautiful landscapes (took my mountain bike and nailed some wild trails - you skinny-tyred racing-snake roadies wouldn't understand...) but missed being able to look up your blog. It's great to catch up tonight and find that meds are on the way, not so great to hear that normal service with our american parcel-delivery brethren is being maintained...!

Was watching QI earlier, apparently anything posted in the UK becomes the property of the Queen until it's delivered, so when drugs are posted she could technically be done for posession...

Assuming there's a similar set-up in France (and UPS can find their derriere with both hands...) could you technically take down the Queen, Gordon Brown, Dubya and Sarko in one...?

Just an idle thought. Up the revolution and good night.

Kelvin

Hello mate,

Great to hear you in such good spirits and yeah its good to be doing something and as usual you will be helping others by doing this. Also if Chelsea win against Man U this weekend and we beat Derby mathmatically we could still win the title. Well theres a chance so keep dreaming, take care and keep smiling.

hey mate,

hope the drugs leave you in a better state than some of the guys at Toby's stag do.. i foolishly answered the phone to one of them earlier (a persistant caller) who claimed that he hadn't been taking drugs but sounded like a mentalist on acid.. not sure what they've been drinking but am very glad i'm sat on my balcony in the sun rather than drinking meths with the tramps or whatever it is thay're doing!!

Hi Ali, Jeanette, Diana and Ian,
Thinking of you all and pleased to hear the sun is shining.
Ali all the best with the new medicine. Sounds like Annecy is also good medicine and nothing better than catching up with friends.
Take lots of care and as always you are all in my thoughts.
Love Carolyn.

Dearest Ali

We are back from our week in Val D'Isere and what a great week we had. With two days constant snow at the beginning of the week followed by four days of sunshine it made for great skiing and we did lots of runs just for you.

On our return today the coach took us through Annecy. The sun was shining on the lake and it all looked totally beautiful. We wished so much that we could have asked the driver to stop and allow us some time to visit you but obviously that was not possible. I (Chris) blew you a great big kiss out of the window and hope you felt it land on your cheeks. We kept a constant look out for you and Chorlton but sadly didn't see you.

So pleased that you have had some lovely friends come to visit and that the drugs have eventually arrived and that you are so positive to be doing something. You are constantly in our thoughts Ali and we wish you a very happy time in Annecy.

All our love to you as always and to Jeanette, your mum and dad and all the Rainback crew.

Keep smiling Ali

Enjoy your time in Annecy in the sun - the UK is so dreary we still have not been out on the boat yet so you are in a good place. Good luck with the new drugs. Thinking of you all.
