I'm home, home, home and so happy about it. I feel really good, actually better than since I had the Brain Biopsy over a month ago. I can run up the stairs and I'm back to my usual weight!
I'm on 16 miligram of steriods but I guess that will come down soon. I aim to sleep, eat and chill over the next couple of days to prepare for the Buzzymachine again to help fight it and make sure every treatment does it's best for us. Oh, I've got Tamazapan and Liozapam which should help me sleep!
My mum gave me a quote when I went travelling on 28th June 1998. I use it every day and it's made a big difference to my life and the way I approach people. See what you think...
'I shall pass through this world but once. If, therefore there can be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do, let me do it now, let me not defer it or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again.'
Happy Christmas and see you soon
Love
Ali

I am sure you will have a wicked Christmas. Being with the family and enjoying the fun and excitement will be great.
Your strength is remarkable and remember at the Venture Scout reunion you offered me the chance of a few ski lessons and to see how you run New Ski Gen. I'm looking forward to it!
The other day I found an old Kimpton Scout patrol book with your name in it! Kimpton Scouts is back flourishing again and do you remember that camp when you had eggy bread and lemonade for breakfast! (If you remember you were very sick after eating it!)
Have a really good one and all our love to you all.
Jonathan, Jemma, Ben & Matthew.
Hi Ali
We are so glad that you are home for Christmas. You sounded back to your usual self when we spoke and that was great to hear.
Hope you all have a restful Christmas and that you come back after to fight this tumour with renewed vigour.
We missed your updates while you were in hospital! Your blog has become an important part of our family life now for us and the girls - so we are glad you are back!!
I would say that the quote your mum gave you back in 1998 you certainly took on board and that is why you now have so many friends wishing you well.
With all our love and best wishes
Paul, Amanda, Emma and Georgia
xx
P.S. Emma and Georgia are going to make a special Christmas wish tonight for you!x
Merry Christmas Ali, Jeanette, Ali's mum, Ali's dad, Si, Jo and the boys.
Wishing you all a relaxed and festive day tomorrow.
Our two little ones are now tucked up with filled christmas stockings weighing down the end of the beds. Can't wait to see their smiles in the morning when they realise Santa didn't forget them.
Lots of love and smiles to you Ali, from Cathy, John, Jack and Sophie Hendry. xx
Hi Ali
Happy Christmas Rainman! Glad you'll be spending it chilling at home with loved ones.
Cheers

Hi Ali,
We've been out of touch with your blog for a few days and were so sorry to read you'd been in hospital - DELIGHTED you're home again now and sounding in such good shape!
Doesn't look like we're getting snow in Wheathampstead this Xmas but I'm sure your mum's home cooking will be some compensation.
Hope all the family have a lovely day tomorrow, we're thinking of you constantly. Keep up the positive attitude!
With love, L & R
HI there,
I hope you sleep through tonight so you don´t catch Santa sprinkling special christmas dust over you, Jeanette and family wishing you the best christmas ever. We your friends have already had the best present ever, that is hearing you so happy and positive. It is what I am sure we have all been hoping for this christmas. I love the photos of the family.
Jeanette I am sorry I didn´t catch up with you before you flew out today but all the best. I hope the Rainbacks mind their manners and let you share some turkey!!! Take lots of care and talk soon.
Love to you all, CArolyn, John, Lotti and Matilda.
About guess the menu....At least they have followed the rule of different colours!!!(the question is did you eat it?)
Hello matey, Great to hear they let you out for Christmas! I'm sure it won't be long before you're giving it large again.
We have Sophie Tranter, James Ruddock and James Redpath out with us this season. The're all doing great and send their love. So thanks for that.
Anyway, you have to get well soon as Booie is desperate to get you over here sometime! (I think you'd be suprised how good it is here!)
Just thought i'd mention that s close friend of mine went through something very similar about 6 years ago and has been clear and perfectly healthy ever since. You met him a couple of years ago but definately won't remember.
Anyways, matey, I'll catch you sometime soon.
Martin White.
Ali's back... back again
Ali's back ... tell a friend
Ali's back ali's back, ali's back ali's back ali's back ali's back ali's back na naaaaa na na naa na naa na naa na
(sung to shadey's back by eminem - go on try it - it almost works.... )
so a special joke for you all this Christmas time,
what do you call a women with a frog on her head?
Lily
i thank you.... and i really do thank you Ali for being such a legend. great news that you are feeling good, at home and back and at 'em.
I had a thought for you mate. I figure that one of the things that must be really difficult to handle at the moment is the constant change in the way you are feeling - one moment running up stairs and feeling elated and well like today, getting home for Christmas... in stark contrast to the real low from being in hospital earlier in the week and feeling like utter crap (it sounded awful). Well in a way it's great that you know the whole ball park now so that whatever you are going to feel over the next month or so as the treatment continues, you will have been there before. however good, or however bad... you know that the only 2 things that are constant are
1) that you will keep changing the way you are feeling and that however bad it gets you will feel better and it will be ok.
2) we are all right behind you, we think that you are great and you are being an inspiration to all of us in the way that you are coping, fighting and philosophically approaching every day.
We* are all right behind you, Jet and your family all the way in your fight against and subsequent victory over this glioma. Keep Blogging dude its great!
Merry Xmas
Tim
*this includes the buzzy machine
Dear Ali,
Nearly Christmas Day. Him indoors is in bed; snoring away and I'm up reading your blog. SO VERY GLAD you are back home with your loved ones for Christmas. Keep smiling and see you in the New Year.
With Much love;
Mum and Dad Haller.xx
Hi Ali, just wanted to wish you and yours a very merry Christmas. So glad you're home and feeling better. You had us worried for a while there but I guess we should know by now that you might have some rough days but you won't be knocked down for long.
Seeing all the people on the blog talking about Kimpton, Wheathampstead, Gustard Wood etc makes me so homesick even tho the parents don't even live there anymore!
The best thing that happened to me today was collecting my husband from the station for SEVEN WHOLE DAYS together - WOOHOO!
Lots of love to you all, Jane-Anne.
Hi Ali, it is Christmas here in NZ,
what a gift knowing you are at home with your family feeling so much better, we are so happy for you.
You see that your advice always works......hang in there during shit times and the big breakthrough is just around the corner.
Get your energy back now and then next week beat the shit out of that "guest" of yours......
talk to you soon
G
Merry Christmas Ali
Have a wonderful couple of days with family at home. Sooo glad you you are on top of things again. Best thing that happened to me to was watching my son open his christmas presents for the first time - and being delighted with the wrapping paper!

Happy Christmas Ali. I have so much admiration for your renewed fight - keep on being strong mate.
I am back in UK for 4 days for Christmas with my family - first time in 10 years. Reading your blog makes me even more aware of the importance of family. Have a great Christmas, I know you will. You're going for the roasties - I can't wait to get stuck into the sprouts!!
Lots of love the Garners. xxx
