Bonjour everyone!
It's early wednesdayMorning and once again I can't sleep. I've had my quota of Tomazapam and I can't really have anymore. I could, but not yet!! Only kidding mum, don't panic! We're going to do the Great Escape sensibly, would you all believe? We've got an appointment with the Doctor tomorrow then we're going back to the Royal Free to see Alison on Friday (Radiotherapy Review Specalist). Once we've got the general all clear, Phil and I are heading off Monday morning. Oh how excited am I? I'm beside, myself with excitement. We'll stop in Annecy for Monday night then head up to Meribel For Tuesday. The 'farewell' team should be there Tuesday evening to welcome us back again. Yippee!!
I forgot to mention that Jet and I are in full flow for organising our wedding. Yippee!!! This is great because it takes our minds off things a bit at the mo. We seriously have the BEST BAND in the South of England! At Warrens wedding 10 years ago he had a band called Bonabrill and they were fantastic. I remember thinking that when I get married we'll try and have the same dudes because they were grrrreaaatttt! Well, we have! All booked - that was the first thing I wanted to do. Oh, we have no caterers yet. That's todays problem!
I'm stil not well yet. I don't expect to be for some time - I'm really, really tired. BUT, I can now be bothered to do some things. Fatigue is aweful, it's like you're a really lazy old man all the time. Many thanks to Jet, Si, Mum and Dad and Jo for going to do things that rightfully should have belonged to me! I'll be back doing them and a few more things - dont worry!
Love
Ali

The farewell team will definitely be there with bells on.
Great news about wedding plans. Such fun (although quite mind blowing as to what is required) to organise and my advice is to do exactly what you and Jeanette want......it´s your day.
Lots of Love Carolyn
Hi Ali - great news about the wedding, and you can't beat live music at a shindig - we had a salsa band at ours, complete with instructor for those unacustomed to the funk. It was great (there was a horrible moment when I thought it would go all "line-dancing" on us...) You should have seen the room go - you wouldn't have believed there were 3 hip-replacements cutting some rug!
I've just exchanged texts with Martin out on his 2-tech in Verbier (we did our 3 in Cvl with Simon you might remember). Boy do I wish I was there, and can only imagine how much you're looking forward to getting back - loving the photos by the way, it's always good to see stars doing their own stunts!
We're keeping the Think Shrink mantra going from Staffs - see you at Easter.

Great Ali, 'lots of plans maketh man!!' Keep up the sleeping, it helps, heals, and allows the body to rest and work at it's own pace....here's another........."When nothing seems to help, I go and look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it- but all that had gone before." LOTS OF THINK SRINKING going on here is Herts still...and the sun's out! Tried calling you yesterday, maybe catch up before you depart for the mountains but good luck with everything and will keep in touch. Weddings, Mountains, tea and lots of friends all sound great! sally

Hi Ali,
Great to hear you are getting on with the plans for the big day, and that all that organising goes smoothly.
Thought you´d like to know that I´m taking Ruby for her first outing of the season this weekend in Krippenstein (an austrian version of La Grave, but on a smaller scale). I think the old gal is getting a bit old now, but I´m sure she still reminisces fondly of her days with you. I´ll put in a few big turns for you, big man!
All the best
Ant & Gudrun xxx
