Sunday Evening

Bonsoir everyone!

Hey folks I've had a good weekend. My eyes are still squiffy but I'm getting 'used' to things now. Oh how I wish I was better. It seems to be one things after another. Anyway we drove back to Meribel Friday evening (Jet and I) and stayed the night together. Saturday morning we drove to Courchevel and saw John in my apartment to see how he's getting on, then we met Maxim who came to value my apartment for selling it. We'll see how much or how little he suggests! Then we met Paul who needed a nights bed in Meribel then my good friend Jacques and Fracoise. I've been dreaming of the time that I met them again and it was no different to the dreams - excellent!

So, we drove back to Meribel had lunch with Paul which was super (okay so I shouldn't of had so much chocolate mouse!) then I slept for a few hours. I got up for another two hours then 'slept' through until 5am.

How do I feel? I'm really worried that I will stay this way for ever. I do not know what I'll do because I'm definitely an invalid right now - very dizzy. Nightmare! If It's getting better it's getting better really, really slowly. I'm dizzy, giddy and out of balance - massively. Someone wrote to me in November 'If you're going through hell - keep going' (Churchill) and I am. It's not a painful hell as you would imagine more a psychological pain of not knowing what is going to happen.

Anyway after a lovely drive back to Chalet Tarentaise with Paul (thanks Pal) I was really happy to get back to see and be with Martin and Deirdre again. Promptly to bed and sleep for four hours up for soup and for the first time I fancied a walk. So Martin and I had a stroll. Tomorrow we're going for a longer walk by the river. I'll talk some photos so watch this space...

Love

Ali

good to see you're still doing the blog Ali, I really like to hear how you are doing. Keep going mate, it must be really tough for you at the moment. I had a little chat to Jeanette this morning on Skype and like I said to her you are both in my thoughts all the time. It must be so hard for you not knowing what is coming next, but there will be good things I'm sure.
however bad your eyes are mate there is no excuse to eat chocolate mice!! They must have been disgusting, I would have thought one would be enough haha!!
Would be good to see some pics, I'm thinking of buying a new camera at the moment, Nikon DSLR maybe..
All the best mate, and see you soonish

Ali dude.
Just back in the uk after a trip to good old Kandersteg. Guiding for a week, then holidaying for a week. Paid our respects to Lesley you'll be glad to hear ( on tele's)!!and visited Adleboden and Lauchernalp and Shilthorn. I know you cant ski at the mo, so I wont go on.. but I also know that you will be making us all look slow and crap soon. Get better and whip our ass's soon! I'll try to call soon and catch up on things. Got some ideas for summer session i need to chew over with the commitee.
Listening to De La Soul in the car on the way home and of course, happy memories came flooding in. One question remains though... How many feathers on a perdu chicken?
Doris and Mustard say hello.
Best wishes mate, hi to Jeanette and the team.

Hi Ali

It was great to catch up with your blog today. We have just been watching Ski Sunday and of course thinking of you all the more. We love the new look Ski Sunday, it is fun and interesting even for a non-skier. We are very sorry to hear you are still giddy and out of balance but hang in there and try to stay positive. We know how hard it must be to keep smiling but you certainly are doing great in that department looking at the photos you have posted on the blog. You have such a wonderful family and group of friends who are spurring you on to get better. Hope you have a beautiful walk by the river tomorrow and enjoy that mountain air. It truly is the best medicine. Keep smiling Ali.
All our love as always
The Conways, Chris, David, Stewart, Jo, Freya, Sarah & Daniel xxxxx

PS David is doing great after his knee op on Friday, he now has to get fit enough for Val D'Isere in April.

Ali, Small steps at a time, it's hard to grasp that these small steps will gradually get bigger steps but take time, thinking of you lots..enjoy the walk, mountains and say hi to Martin and Deidre. "One man with courage makes a majority" and you certainly have more courage than most! Take care, Sally X

Mate - have a look at this story, it is about a scottish comedian who had a similar tumour to yours and then woke up one morning last week and it had dissapeared!

Dear Alistair,
thanks for sharing where youre at & thanks for the good photos too......Hang on in there You & me (& my family) are in a doldrums at the moment. God will not leave us in the kaka.....
The wind will spring up soon and take us all to new places....

Did my first days work for a temp agency today...on the port in Antibes.... very pleasant, good crew, low stress, lots of boats. My french seemed to work fine today, good for my confidence... some days my head hurts & I just nod all day (understanding only 10%)

....Remember all the dead cells & rubbish in your head will need time to clear out....to relieve the pressure....

I pray now for peace and healing..

Bless you & Jeanette & all the Rainbacks
