Monday Evening

Bonjour Everyone

On Sunday I had a bad headache and was rather wobbly so I came to the Hospice of St Francis in Berkhampstead.

It's a beautiful place and I have a lovely family room overlooking the gardens and Mum is staying with me. The Doctors are going to assess me and sort out my giddyness and I'll be here a few days before going home again.

Everyone is so nice and helpful and they food is great!!

Love

Ali

Dearest Ali

You are a real star, keeping us up to date with what is happening. David and I were going to ring you tomorrow but I think we shall wait until later in the week to see if you are at home and hopefully come over to see you.

The Hospice sounds as though it has beautiful grounds and with the weather so nice you will be able to enjoy the gardens I am sure.

Glad to hear the food is great because we know how much you love your food and its good to know you have such an appetite.

Stewart, Jo and Freya came over today and we had lunch in the garden in the sunshine. It was great to see them. We will send you a photo on your email of Stew, Jo and Freya in our garden today.

We send our fondest love to you Ali, we are thinking of you constantly and your family and Jeanette who such a wonderful support to you.

Keep smiling Ali, we love you loads.

All our love as always

Dear Ali
Just to let you know that you are constantly in our thoughts. We're all recovering from the excesses of May Festival - very successful weatherwise because fo the wonderful sunshine you have brought back to England for us.

HI Ali,
really pleased to hear the trip home was OK - good team work of course.
No doubt they'll be taking good care of you so make the most of the rest - sounds like you've got some exciting adventures in the weeks ahead so you'll need to get your energy up for that...
Thinking of you lots, and of Jeanette, Diane and Ian.
lots of love to you all,
Katie & Chispa :0)

Hi Ali

How can you keep cheerful in Berkhamstead??!!!...opps that is my own prejudices coming through - I have a major problem with anywhere in Berkhamstead - the girls school always beat us at Lacrosse in my long ago school days. Reading the latest entry just made me remember the shiver of apprehension seeing their name on the fixtures list.

Think where you are is a much better place than a cold, wet lacrosse pitch though.

Enjoy the sunshine and keep sharing your sunshine with us. Thinking of you.

Lots of love

Jo (and every increasing bump #2)

Hey Ali,

St Francis (of Animals - as we used to call him at school) seems to be the perfect chap to be watching over you. Makes me remember one time I saw you when I was home visiting and you were striding through Gustard Wood, with Jasper running on ahead sniffing at something. That's how I think of you Ali, and on roller skates - but we were both rubbish at that !

You're in a great place for some relaxation and recuperation. Just take it easy and do as you're told and you'll be ready to fight again in no time. Don't ever forget how many people are thinking of you and praying for you. Take your strength from us and take your time. Where there is darkness, there WILL be light.

Lots of love

J-A (and all of mine)

Dear Ali

Welcome back. TU for the lovely photos of Annecy, good memories, and hope you will be back there soon once Berkhampstead has sorted.

Quiet in Kimpton now that May Festival has triumphantly passed by for another year. The sun is shining on your house next door, as we hope the sunshine will be with you this week.

Love and prayers, to you and to Diana and Ian, the fantastic parents.

Hi Ali. They say,(whoever they are?)"A good holiday is one you return from needing a rest to recover". Yours, in Annecy, must have been exceptional! Your blog is part of my daily routine now,as it seems to be for so many people. So lots of positive thoughts coming your way! K.o.k.o. Awrabest.

Hi Ali,

Great to see you and your Mum yesterday at the Hospice - what a beautiful place and so well run. We hope you will continue to get some rest so you can get home to Wheathampstead refreshed.

I think you enjoyed seeing us as much as Jo and I enjoyed seeing you. Despite your tiredness, we hope you'll get lots of visitors to cheer you up.

Give our love to Jeanette when she arrives.

With love Marzie & Jo

Hi Ali

Just looking at our Big Guns picture - that was such a laugh with Paul.

Was on my bike yesterday going up a hill and all I could hear was you telling me to 'get on with it' and something about 'fat boy'! We need to go up Semnoz again and have a big steak and chips... Hope to see you in next couple of days as will be in Berkhampsted visiting sister and baby.

Hi to si and family and of course you fantastic mum and dad.

thinking of you everyday

Hi Ali

I hope you don't mind me checking in. I work for the Willow Foundation (the charity set up by Bob and Megs Wilson). We have been following your blog here and feel like we know you and your lovely family.
A colleague of mine is at Arsenal this week, would you mind letting us know where (Emirates or Training Ground) and when you are there as she would love to say hello if you don't mind.

Kind regards
Caz Eagles

Good morning Ali.

Sit back, relax, de stress, be pampered and chill. Leave the work to the rest of us.
It's a lovely day in Le Grazie today, mountains are clear as a bell, peace and quiet and a clear blue sky above us. It's a shame that I have to go and spoil it all by Varnishing the main boom, hatches and various bits, then paint some other areas. Oh well. As is said many times "another shitty day in paradise!"
For once I actually regret my life abroad as it makes it very hard to come and have a good chat with you over a cup of tea. Hopefully we will put that straight this weekend.
Holding you, the amazing Family and the lovely Jeanette very close to my heart and every thought.

Big Love,

Dicky M
