Bonjour everyone!
Monday morning and it's grim weather outside. Not to worry, we're feeling much better after the weekend. Thank you for your comments and support (we read them all the time and they make SUCH a difference to how we feel). Okay, so I/we were a bit down. But all is okay now. We're just going to crack on with things, plan ahead for the good things, take on the bad and enjoy as much as we can.
Phil and I have planned our trip back to France for two weeks today. I'm so excited I can hardly wait. Strict rest at the other end is required. No skiing. :-)
How do I feel physically right now? I'm okay apart from my vision. It's just that I'm a bit out of balance still. When that stops I'll be soooo happy. Everything else is fine, I just need to and will do loose that big tummy of mine.
Down to 8 milligrams on the steroids today....yippee! By the way, today is our day of not talking about it. So, if you call me or have the good fortune to bump into me, then not a word ha ha!
Yesterday was awesome. Let me quickly talk you through it. Cooked breakfast, walk with Dino in the woods, soup for lunch, snooze in the avo, went to see Abbie, Claire and Ruth at the Bright Star in Peters Green (which was brilliant and so good to to catch up on the news), snooze again then roast beef and yorkshire pudding then another snooze in fron of Ski Sunday. How could it get much better?!
I', still not with my laptop with the photos but promise to post some more asap!
Love
Ali

Morning mate
Thats for coming to watch on Saturday, was great to have some friendly spectators (even if they were heckling me!). I hope you enjoyed and will let you when we are playing against Hertford, so you can come watch if you are free.

PS get that photo of you an me up on Saturday, so the ladies have got some eye candy!
Hi Ali,
Tried calling a few times but can't seem to get through. No doubt you will have your ups and downs over the coming months. I won't pretend to understand what you are going through but be assured that our thoughts are with you all the way.
Julian, Brinda and Harry
Hi Ali, Honest, it's called a cloud inversion here in Herts, you just need to loom above the clouds to those lovely fresh mountains and it's blue sky above.......can you remember how many times you have told clients that.....except normally and hopefully we are all skiing above the clouds and saying how gloomy it must be in Geneva or Moutier today!!!!....Call or text me if you can, would love to zoom over and catch you for a coffee, tummy and all.....need something to grab!!!
Lots of smiles and think of the weather above the clouds!!! Sally X
Ski Sunday is enough to send anyone into a deep depression in my view - what happened to actually showing some skiing on it?? Am I really interested in what some snowboarder thinks of Japanese toilets?? NON!! Good thing you fell asleep. If you are at a loose end over the next few weeks maybe we can spearhead a petition to bring back David Vine!
Glad you had a top weekend

P.S. Completely agree with 'K' on Ski Sunday...I thought I had tuned in to something different, bless him Mr Bell......cannot wait to see him with Ben Fogle and a tray of beer....what do they teach these ski racers!!! Bend zee kneeezzzeee...hope nobody is reading this that will take it to heart! Sal
Haven't been in touch for a while(my fault) but sending loads of love. We also played London Scottish this weekend and kicked arse. When I say we I mean Oliver in the Wasps U7's. Ref made some bad decisions especially when I disallowed my own son's try!!! Honest his foot was in touch!
Must tune in to Ski Sunday and see what all the fuss is about? Glad to have found the blog at last.
Lots of love Adrian,Louise and the kids
Hi Ali
Keep your chin up - stay strong - you have shown remarkable courage and strength so far. It will work - trust and believe.
Remember that when you feel you are being unfairly tested, you are being prepared for even greater things. Life's obstacles are simply opportunites for us to show our true capabilities.
You are here for a reason...in this particular time and place in your life…
and perhaps the very specific challenges facing you right now …are truly invitations to expand your capacity to be patient…
courageous…flexible…forgiving…to make wise choices…to see things from a wider perspective…and by embracing and growing through them, to become ever more fully the compassionate, insightful, aware, wise, deep and beautiful soul that you are truly meant to be….

Hi Ali,
Chin up it'll come good!
Though I hope the roast beef was a one off. Digesting meat takes up precious energy you should be using to recover from the zapping! Ok I sound like I'm lecturing now - get tucked into those sprouts. Hee hee. Brilliant news you're going back to France then you won't have to rely on SkiSunday to watch some real action on the slopes.
Much Love

She sits on the floor and looks at him, being in the same room is strange after all the virtual contact. He is right there, and he is Ali. Yes, he looks physically different, but the essence of Ali is there, the voice and the laugh. He is not overshadowed by the darkness. Close at hand, Jeanette is quietly watching him, radiating warmth and serenity towards him. On the floor next to him is the rough outline of a plan for moving forward, and writing about it, and talking about it seem to be a way to make it a reality.
The laptop sits idle, and his hands rest on the keys, a vital lifeline with the network of friendship that spreads far across the world, invisible yet unbreakable, available at a moments notice to supply the words that soothe the man, and calm his troubled thoughts.
Like a rope bridge stretching away into fog, the future is unclear, but plans give him the momentum to walk forward and he knows there are many hands waiting to catch him and voices to urge him onwards should he call on them. And so he walks on, with Jeanette by his side, and he is sad, but not all the time…
Yippee,
WE will see you soon. Can´t wait but get ready to be hugged and kissed lots.
Take care you two,
Love CArolyn and John

I'm sending you three "livestong" wristbands. One for you, another for when it wears out and one for jeanette. Wear it with pride, wear it to awaken the survivor within especially when things are getting tough. Take care, Angus
Linz stop writing things like that it keeps making me cry!! Don't stop really. It's wonderful and so true. We're all here when you need us, Ali.
Best thing that happened to me today was receiving an email from my Mum and realising I'd see the parents in 3.5 weeks - woohoo!
Keep up the good work!
Lots of love
Jane-Anne.
Keep up the good work
