Bonjour eveyone.
Well that's it! I feel like it's the last day of summer term! The sun didn't shine today but it certainly did in our little bit of the world. Oh how! I walked out of the hospital and wondered what I could do tomorrow - all those things. Awesome. Massive thanks to Alison who really did look after me over the last 7 weeks. Thank you and good luck Alison.
You wouldn't believe that how many times, in the last couple of years, when we were walking in the alpine meadows high above Annecy or cycling around the lake on a hot summers day, that we looked at each other and said how lucky we were. So many times. Only today did we have a little cry and wish it wasn't me. After all this. We're strong and will continue to fight, with your help, to make sure this goes completely.
When I was first diagnosed I sat down on my own for a bit and had a think about it. I did just accept that I had to get on with it. To be honest there is not a lot else to do. One thing was clear in my mind and that was that some good thing would come to us all as a result of my being ill. It did. I'm bowled over. Thank you all for your support.
So what now?
We carry on until it's gone.
See you tomorrow? I hope so.
Love
Ali

Well done Ali - you made it! This website has shown what a huge amount of friends have been following your journey, and supporting you along the way and will continue to be there for you on your road to recovery. You can now leave the darkness behind, rest awhile and look forward to getting back to the snow; we'll all be there for you.
Much love from all the Bouscarles (inc Dino!)

you have stopped many people in their tracks, not only by your incredible attitude and positivity, but also by making us all look at our own lives and relising how very prescious life really is.As so many have said, you are an inspiration to us all.Keep on 'living strong' and remember that with every step you get stronger, and keep blogging!!

Great news that the tunnel is fast emerging into sun and snow. What courage!
I have 'Think Shrink' as a mantra on my shopping list - to remind.

Dear Ali
I am so pleased for you and glad that you have remained so positive up to now. Keep thinking good thoughts over the next few weeks and get plenty of r and r before returning to France. Everyone is still rooting for you and will be with you all the way.
Love as always to you and your family. Christine xx
Ali, I feel like a little bit of an intruder as we dont really know each other very well, apart from through Jeanette, but your blog has reeled me in and its an honour to follow your journey.
The words from your friends are so fantastic, and i am so sure that this date today 24 January 2008, is the turning point for you and Jeanette,
Good rest! Treacle x
Some were asking what went wrong on the pitch on Tuesday night and the answer is obvious… the whole team was thinking ‘shrink’. It’s a shame but one loss in such a good cause can be forgiven I’m sure.
Wednesday was the last treatment day and I had my ski boots on and was stomping like crazy on the squatter and shouting ‘shrink! shrink!’ The ski boots made it tricky to walk to the printer and everyone wanted to know why I was wearing them in the office. So then there was a whole extra group in an engineering office in Switzerland thinking ‘shrink’. An amplified shrink boost for the final treatment. Then I had to try and run in my ski boots… some men came into my office with a strange looking jacket for me and said they have a special room where I can have a nice holiday… The things your friends do for you! ;-)
Best things on Wednesday? – knowing it was your last treatment (all r & r now), and sharing a wild berry pancake for lunch with my dear friend Sara.
Congrats on reaching this major milestone with grace, courage and humour. May your grace, courage and humour continue to sustain you through recovery, through follow ups and into a healthy and strong future.
P.S. – when they tell you in two months that there’s nothing in your head anymore and you don’t need any more treatment… can we call you an air head? ;-p
SHRINK! Michelle x
Hi Ali
What a relief to get through that lot at last, well done. Now you take care of yourself, keep fit and ready to face that road (or rail) ahead. We are all thinking of you and your family.
I prefer to look at your rail track picture and think of it as leaving the lump behind.
All our love
Bill and Christine
Hey Ali
It blows me away to read everyones wonderful comments and how many peoples lives you have touched over the years. You truly are an inspiration to us, and as many people have already said, your illness has made me re-think what is important in life...family, friends and health is all that matters (well and the odd bag of liquorice all sorts!).
It is an honour to be able to call you my friend and I look forward to us spending many many more years being just that!
Love you Ali and Jeanette

Hi Ali,
My new friend and your old one, Rachel H, instructed me to come and read your blog!
I did, it’s great, with your attitude you’re going to be fine mate but I’m ‘thinking shrink’ not that I think you need my help!
Andy
It's all true Ali, you are loved so much, by so many, we will all be thinking shrink for as long as you need us... See you soon

Brilliant that the last treatment is over! Relax and rest - enjoy the freedom from the hospital. You are amazing and as Andy L say we love you! Thinking shrink is a daily (or more frequent) thought for me and so many others and looking forward to hearing about the all clear!! Keep smiling (cheeks and all)

Hi Ali, just heard that you were in hospital. Im thinking and praying for you!! Good memories of March time last year- hitting the powder day after day in Wengen. Some nice lines through the trees I seem to remember! Whats the point of the piste, when there is powder. Im in Edinburgh at the moment, working for a homeless charity- all good fun! Am looking to get out into the scottish hills over the next few weeks. You cant beat Scottish skiing :-)
Blessings,
