Hi everyone,

Sorry it's a bit late, I've just woken up! Afternoon sleeps rock! Cor, they were right when they said I would be tired. Poor old Jeanette took about 2 hours (no kidding) to get me ready for going up to hospital this morning. I still forgot my wallet! I really do feel like an invalid sometimes. I'm unsteady on my feet, giddy, I forget things and I can't be bothered to do things. I've got a lovely tummy on me now and it's so unlike me to not be bothered to do things. I've been told this is normal with all the steroids and the disease but I hate it. Maybe this is the time to listen to Winston Churchill "If you're going through hell.....keep going" I know I'm going to be the old Ali again. I know I am.

On the other hand I'm half way through my treatment today!! Yippee. I'm not kidding when I say that treatment is easy. I might have said this already but poor old Dad does the driving, I just sleep or tell him how to drive! Sorry Dad. I go in, get zapped and go home. Actually I also try and nap a free massage which is awesome. Thanks Keith!

My job, I've been told is as follows.....
  1. Drink enough water
  2. Sleep and rest enough
  3. Take my pills on time

That's it!

Love to you all, more piccies tomorrow as I'm not on my laptop just now!

Ali

Hey I might just be the first to write today!!
Doesn´t sound like much fun what you are going through but as you said you will be the old Ali again. It will take time but you will get there.
Keep up the good work of following orders and we will see you soon.
Lots of love to Jeanette.
Carolyn.

Morning Ali

It's so good to hear that you're half way through. It must seem like forever to you, but it will be over before you know it and then you can come and see us all in the snow.

I moved into the Le Praz office yesterday. V Strange but good. I had to x country ski to work this morning as the buses arent early enough..how good is that to x country to work..haha! Apart from I fell over in front of a handsome ESF instructor...bambi on ice that's me!

Love to Jeanette

Hi Ali!

Happy New Year and lots of love to you and Jet. I'm so pleased to hear that you're half way through your treatment - and to see that, despite a few down times (only to be expected!!), you're still really positive and on good terms with Buzzymachine.

I know we've still never met, but your blog is so honest and down to earth that I know that you're the perfect man for Jet. I can't wait to get over to France when you're all better and get to know you properly before you marry my gorgeous friend - and I was kind of hoping I could persuade you to could teach my Alister to ski! I've got a feeling that, with your enthusiasm for all things exciting, you'll be the only one who'd be able to convince him that strapping two long planks of wood (fibre glass? or whatever!) to his feet in order to whizz down a mountain at high speed is a good idea! I'm desperate to come to France when you and Jet get back there, but I'm not so keen on the idea of Alister spending the day in the bars while we whizz down the slopes!!! That's a recipe for disaster if ever I heard one!!

I've been thinking 'shrinkshrinkshrink' regularly for you, and I know there's hundreds of us out there doing the same (awesome page counter total, by the way!). The evil BrainInvader has no chance - and with everyone's positive thoughts I know you'll shoot it down!

Stay strong, lots of love to Jet, and all the best to you and your family for a happy (and healthy)2008.

Looking forward to meeting you soon.

Love, Jacquie xxx

Just a quick message to say hello and hope you are enjoying the New Year.

I regularly read your blog and I am really impressed by your sheer guts and determination.

I remember from our days as ventures what a wonderful family you have (I will never forget your mum whipping off her cardigan at some HVSU event as I looked cold - bless her!) and it seems that they are still as supportive as ever. I have two boys of my own now and if they are as good friends as you and Simon are (and always were) I will be very happy.

It is lovely to see a photo of Jeanette and hear about how great she is being - you are a lovely couple (far too good looking mind you !) and all of your photos reflct how happy you are.

There is no doubt in my mind that you will be skiing again very soon (nothing could keep you away) and I look forward to hearing all about it on your blog.

All my love to you and your family - I am thinking of you all
